Research Progress on Neo-endogenous Development in Rural Revitalization
LU Hai-yong;WANG Shuo;In the new era of the rural revitalization strategy, insufficient endogenous impetus in rural areas remains a prominent problem, and selecting appropriate development models has become critical to boosting rural development.Using literature analysis method and knowledge mapping method, this study systematically sorts out relevant literature on neo-endogenous development in rural China.The findings reveal that farmers are the core subjects of rural development.It is necessary to enhance cultural identity, foster shared values; awaken their internal motivation, enhance the endogenous empowerment of stakeholders, promote the effective integration of internal and external rural resources, and advance the joint participation of multiply entities in rural construction.A resilient rural governance system should be established.Nevertheless, existing studies mostly explore endogenous rural development from a single perspective, lacking a systematic framework for action.In the future, synergy theory can be introduced to conduct in-depth research on the theoretical framework and practical paths of rural neo-endogenous development, so as to provide sound theoretical support for achieving sustainable, resilient and inclusive neo-endogenous rural development.
Research Progress on Plant DNA Damage Response
ZHU Qiu-hua;LIN Yu-jie;CAO Rui;Plant DNA damage response(DDR) is a key mechanism for maintaining genome stability and coping with environmental stress.DNA double-strand breaks(DSBs) are the most serious DNA damage, which disrupting the physical continuity of chromosomes and resulting in the loss or mistransmission of genetic information.To repair such damages, two major DSBs damage repair mechanisms have evolved in eukaryotic cells: homologous recombination repair(HRR) and non-homologous end joining(NHEJ).In this paper, the latest research progress on the mechanisms of DNA damage response and DSBs damage repair in plants were reviewed.These mechanisms are essential for maintaining genome stability and integrity under stress conditions, and provide theoretical basis for improving crop stress resistance and breeding genetically improved varieties.
Selection and Evaluation of New Flue-cured Tobacco Varieties (Lines) in Pingdingshan
WU Jiang;LI Hui;XU Xiao-wen;Henan Provincial Tobacco Company Nanyang City Company;[Objective]To screen high-quality and disease-resistant flue-cured tobacco varieties(lines) suitable for cultivation in the tobacco-growing areas of Pingdingshan, Henan Province. [Method]Through field trials, a randomized block design was adopted to conduct a plot comparison test on 20 flue-cured tobacco varieties(lines). Differences in growth period, botanical traits, agronomic traits, disease resistance, economic traits, chemical composition, and appearance quality among the varieties were analyzed, and a comprehensive evaluation was carried out using the grey relational analysis method.[Result]The field growth period of each variety(line) was 131 d, and significant differences were observed in botanical and agronomic traits. Among them, Y7104, Y7106, Y7095, Y8112, Y9407, and Y9408 exhibited moderate plant heights, a relatively large number of effective leaves, appropriate node spacing, and larger leaves; their overall agronomic traits were superior. Y7106, Y7144, Y8111, Y9401, and Y9408 showed relatively strong comprehensive disease resistance. The chemical composition contents of Y7105, Y7137, Y7149, Y7072, and Y9405 were appropriate and exhibited good compatibility. The economic traits of Y7052, Y7063, Y7105, Y8112, Y9405, Y9407, and Y9408 were relatively superior. Grey correlation degree analysis indicated that Y7052, Y7063, Y7137, Y8112, Y9407, and other varieties had relatively high correlation degrees and better comprehensive trait performance. [Conclusion]Y7052, Y7063, Y7137, Y8112, and Y9407 exhibited excellent overall performance. Among them, Y9407 and Y8112 demonstrated stronger disease resistance and can be used as preferred materials for disease-resistant breeding of flue-cured tobacco in this region.
Analysis of Important Breeding Traits of Early-mid Maturing Upland Cotton in Korla Reclamation Area Under the Condition of “Dry Sowing with Wet Emergence”
YU Si-hai;XIE Bin;LIN Hai;[Objective] This study aimed to explore the growth performance of cotton under the “dry sowing with wet emergence” cultivation regime in the Kuerle Reclamation Area, with the goal of providing theoretical underpinnings for local cotton production practices. [Method] A combined approach of field experiment and laboratory analysis was employed to compare agronomic traits, yield components, and fiber quality attributes across different early-mid maturing upland cotton varieties. [Result] Under the “dry sowing with wet emergence” conditions, significant inter-varietal differences were detected in agronomic traits, yield, and fiber quality. Specifically: plant height varied from 62.7 to 96.9 cm; height of the first fruiting node ranged from 13.9 to 28.1 cm; node position of the first fruiting branch spanned 5.1 to 8.7 nodes; fruiting branch angle ranged from 47.84° to 65.47°; number of fruiting branches per plant was 8-12; boll weight varied from 5.39 to 7.01 g; lint percentage ranged from 41.7% to 46.9%; fiber length spanned 28.01-33.33 mm; micronaire value was 4.39-4.97; breaking tenacity ranged from 26.7 to 31.5 cN/tex; fiber uniformity index varied from 84.8% to 88.0%; yield ranged from 5 027.85 to 7 185.00 kg/hm2. [Conclusion] Considering the comprehensive performance of agronomic traits, yield, and fiber quality, the varieties Xingjinghua 198, Hongtai 6636, Xintamian 3, and Xin 6015 exhibited superior fiber quality and high yield potential. These varieties are recommended for further demonstration and extension in the Kuerle Reclamation Area.
Introduction of Tartary Buckwheat Varieties in the Dryland Farming Area of Central Gansu
ZHAO Xiao-qin;CHEN Fu;HUANG Kai;[Objective] To screen high-yield and high-quality tartary buckwheat varieties suitable for promotion and cultivation in the dryland farming area of central Gansu, and to provide references for improving the quality and increasing the yield of tartary buckwheat in the local area.[Method] From 2023 to 2024,nine new varieties of tartary buckwheat were tested to determine the agronomic traits and yield structure of the participating varieties.[Result]The two-year converted yields of Guikuqiao No.1,Qianku No.7, and Liuku 2201 increased by 18.68%,13.49% and 3.75% respectively compared with the control group Dingkuqiao No.1.The 1 000-grain weight was increased by 20.80%,17.92%, and 16.17% respectively compared with the control, and the entire growth period was 3,12,and 5 d earlier than that of the control respectively.[Conclusion]The growth period of Guikuqiao No.1 is moderate and it has strong drought resistance, making it suitable for large-scale demonstration and promotion in the dryland farming area in central Gansu Province.Qianku 7 and Liuku 2201 can be used as alternative varieties for moderate-scale demonstration planting in the dryland farming area in central Gansu.

The Farmer Livestreaming Dilemma: A Theoretical Model of Price Premiums in Agricultural Livestreaming
ZHANG Yun-hui;TU Guo-ping;Fresh agricultural products have long been confronted with marketing challenges, which stem from their inherent perishability and significant supply-demand volatility. Although livestream e-commerce provides a potential solution to alleviate these obstacles and boost farmers' incomes, individuals engaged in self-operated livestreaming face multiple difficulties, such as non-standardized products, high perishability risks, post-sales uncertainties, and limited operational capabilities and resources. This study intends to conduct a theoretical analysis of the dilemmas inherent in farmers' self-operated livestream marketing. It explores the underlying mechanisms that impede income growth through livestreaming, with a specific focus on the impact of achieving a livestream premium on farmers' participation willingness. By employing a game-theoretic model that depicts the interaction between farmers and consumers, this research deduces the necessary conditions for a livestream price premium to drive income growth. It further assesses how these conditions differ across various operational scales and brand development stages. The results reveal that ordinary farmers—usually featured by small-scale operations, lack of brand awareness, and weak livestream operational capabilities—find it difficult to obtain a price premium high enough to offset additional sales costs and unrecovered investment in efforts. As a result, their effective income growth through livestreaming is often constrained.

Study on Gene Family Characteristics and Alpine Adaptive Evolution of Hemisteptia lyrata
XIONG Ye;WANG Heng-chang;The extreme environment of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau,marked by high altitude cold,hypoxia and intense ultraviolet radiation,serves as a natural platform for dissecting the molecular mechanisms underlying the adaptive evolution of alpine plants.Hemisteptia lyrata,a basal taxon of the genus Saussurea,represents a pivotal model for investigating the early evolution of alpine Asteraceae species.Leveraging chromosome-level genome annotation data of H.lyrata,this study performed gene family clustering,phylogenetic reconstruction,and Gene Ontology(GO)/Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) functional enrichment analyses to identify core adaptation-related gene families and metabolic pathways.A total of 763 gene families underwent expansion and 1 174 underwent contraction in H.lyrata.Among these,246 significantly expanded families were enriched in pathways related to secondary metabolism and stress responses,including indole glucosinolate biosynthesis and glutathione metabolism.In contrast,341 significantly contracted families were concentrated in functions such as secondary metabolite synthesis and DNA replication.This study reveals that H.lyrata achieves broad-spectrum adaptation through a molecular strategy involving secondary metabolic specialization and optimized resource allocation,providing critical molecular evidence for understanding the evolution from widespread species to alpine specialists in Saussurea and alpine Asteraceae.

Research on the Adopting Dense Maize Planting Technology and Its its Effects on Fertilizer Application
YANG Mo-han;CAI Hai-long;Based on survey data from 834 maize growers across Shandong, Henan, and Shaanxi provinces in 2024, this study employs a binary Probit model and moderation effects model to examine factors influencing the adoption of dense planting technology and its effects on fertilizer application. Results indicate:Age negatively affects adoption, while agricultural training, farm scale, and cooperative participation positively promote it;Dense planting significantly increases fertilizer application, though integrated water-fertilizer management and similar technologies can mitigate this effect. Recommendations include implementing differentiated technology promotion strategies, advocating the “dense planting + integrated water-fertilizer management” model, strengthening technical training and services, cultivating new types of farming entities, and improving policy support systems.

Optimization of Extraction Process and Antioxidant Activity of Origanum vulgare Volatile Oil Using Response Surface Methodology
LU Chao;CHEN Jing-xian;LU Shen-shen;[Objective] To optimize the extraction process of Origanum vulgare volatile oil and investigate its in vitro antioxidant activity. [Method] The yield of O. vulgare volatile oil extracted via ultrasound-assisted steam distillation served as the primary evaluation index. Key influencing factors were first screened through single-factor experiments, followed by optimization of extraction parameters using the Box-Behnken response surface methodology. Antioxidant capacity was assessed via 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) and 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt(ABTS) radical scavenging assays, while the contents of carvacrol and thymol in the volatile oil were quantified using HPLC. [Result] Results indicated that the optimal extraction parameters were as follows: a salinity of 3.2%, liquid-solid ratio of 7∶ 1(mL∶ g), ultrasonic duration of 11 min, and extraction time of 92 min. Under these conditions, the extraction yield of O. vulgare volatile oil reached 4.724 mg/g. The volatile oil exhibited a certain degree of scavenging activity against both DPPH and ABTS radicals, though its scavenging efficacy was lower than that of vitamin C. HPLC analysis revealed that the extracted volatile oil contained 18.24% carvacrol and 6.38% thymol. [Conclusion] The Box-Behnken response surface methodology optimized extraction process for O. vulgare volatile oil is stable and reliable, providing a theoretical basis and technical reference for subsequent research on its antioxidant activity and development of practical applications.

The Mechanism,Constraints and Paths of Two-way Interaction Between New Rural Collective Economy and Rural Governance
WU Qi;ZHAO Huan;The new type of rural collective economy and rural governance are not only in a one-way empowering relationship,but also in a two-way interactive relationship of driving and feeding back. To clarify the specific process of the interactive relationship between the two, this paper adopts the research framework of “proposing hypotheses-analyzing hypotheses-verifying hypotheses”. After conducting a speculative analysis from the perspective of two-way interaction, it is found that the new rural collective economy has a very strong driving effect on rural governance, and rural governance also has a certain feedback effect on the new rural collective economy. Moreover, factors such as the low level of economic development, weak governance capacity and the absence of rural governance mechanisms affect the two-way interaction efficiency between the two. In the future,efforts should be made to further enhance the coordinated interaction between the development of the new rural collective economy and rural governance, improve the mechanism for transforming the economy into effective rural governance, and promote the smooth, stable and orderly transformation of the development level of the new rural collective economy into rural governance efficiency.

Research and Application Advances of Yeast Two-hybrid Technique
LI Xian-kun et al(College of Horticulture and Gardening of Hainan University,Danzhou,Hannan 571737)Yeast two-hybrid,which studies the interaction among proteins in yeast eukaryotic cells by using genetics method,is a very effective molecular biology technology.It is widely used in the fields such as proteomics,cellular signal transduction and functional genomics.And it has become one of important experiment means in the research field of molecular biology.And many valuable discoveries have been achieved using this system.With the development of molecular biology,based on yeast two-hybrid,many techniques such as yeast one-hybrid,reverse two-hybrid,three-hybrid,and extranuclear two-hybrid were set up to be applied in the research on the interaction between protein-protein,protein-DNA,protein-RNA,and protein-ligand.The research advances of yeast two-hybrid and its relevant technologies and application were summarized.It could be forecast that yeast two-hybrid and its derived techniques would play more and more important role in the researches of the functional genomics and proteomics.
