Whole Genome Analysis of a Bacillus velezensis Strain with Broad-spectrum Antimicrobial Activity
LU Fu-hai;TONG Li-ge;WEI Hao;Guangxi Academy of Sciences;[Objective]To analyze the genetic information of Bacillus velezensis DPT-03 through whole-genome sequencing and elucidate its biocontrol mechanisms underpinning its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. [Method]The whole-genome sequencing of the target bacterial strain was performed using a combined approach integrating second-generation sequencing(NGS) and third-generation sequencing technologies, followed by systematic bioinformatic analysis of the sequencing data. [Result]A total of 3 747 genes were successfully annotated in the genome of strain DPT-03. CAZy functional analysis revealed 128 carbohydrate-active enzyme gene families, with glycosyltransferase and glycoside hydrolase families constituting the majority. Analysis of secondary metabolite synthesis gene clusters identified eight types of antimicrobial compounds: surfactin, fengycin, bacillibactin, macrolactin H, difficidin, bacilysin, butirosin A/butirosin B, and bacillaene. Virulence factor gene prediction annotated 326 virulence factor genes, of which over 40% were classified as offensive virulence factors(137 genes annotated). Among defensive virulence factors, genes related to anti-phagocytic systems were the most abundant, with 43 genes annotated. Additionally, the strain harbored resistance genes against 10 common antibiotics. [Conclusion]The genomic sequence of Bacillus velezensis DPT-03 was successfully obtained. Analysis revealed that its biocontrol mechanism primarily involves the release of virulence factors, leading to the death of pathogenic microorganisms. Additionally, the strain exhibits strong anti-phagocytic capabilities, enhancing its ecological niche in soil and suppressing the growth of pathogens.
Effects of Cadmium Stress on the Accumulation of Active Ingredients in Medicinal Plants
PENG Feng;LUO Gui-yin;ZHANG Kun;Guangxi Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants/Guangxi Key Laboratory of High-Quality Formation and Application of Dao-di Herbs;Medicinal plants are important raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry, and the accumulation of their active ingredients is easily influenced by environmental factors, especially cadmium(Cd) pollution.Cd stress can affect the yield and quality of medicinal plants and pose a threat to human health.Different medicinal plants exhibit varying characteristics of Cd accumulation, which are closely related to plant species and tissue types.Active ingredients such as flavonoids, phenols, terpenoids, and alkaloids demonstrate diverse response mechanisms to Cd stress.This paper reviews the effects of Cd stress on the growth of medicinal plants, Cd accumulation characteristics, and active ingredient accumulation, and discusses future research directions and application prospects, aiming to provide a reference for the sustainable cultivation and quality improvement of medicinal plants.
Research Progress in Effects of Grain-Medicine Composite Cultivation on Grain-Medicine, Ecology and Economic Benefits
HUANG Sheng;YOU Shuang-si;CHEN Ming-ju;Grain-medicine composite cultivation is a new agricultural planting model developed based on the composite planting of Chinese medicinal materials and grain crops.Through literature review, this paper summarizes the main types of grain-medicine composite cultivation and analyzes its effects on the yield and quality of medicinal plants and grain crops, ecological benefits, and economic benefits.Research shows that grain-medicine composite cultivation can not only alleviate the conflict for land between grain and medicinal crops, improve the yield and quality of grain and medicinal products, but also enhance the ecological environment and increase economic benefits, which is of great significance for the sustainable development and utilization of Chinese medicinal resources.On this basis, the advantages, urgent problems to be solved, and future research directions of grain-medicine composite cultivation are discussed.
Analysis of Agronomic Traits and Yield Stability in 11 Mid-season Indica Rice Varieties (Combinations)
SHEN Guan-wang;LU Yun;YU Lin-chuang;To screen high-yielding and stable mid-season indica rice varieties(combinations) suitable for planting in southern Henan, a field comparative trial was conducted at three experimental sites(Luoshan, Huangchuan, and Gushi) using Jingliangyou 534 as the control. Eleven mid-season indica rice hybrid combinations were systematically evaluated for their growth duration, population structure, panicle traits, and yield. The productivity and stability were comprehensively assessed using regression analysis and the Eberhart & Russell model. The results indicated significant genetic differences among the tested varieties(combinations) in major agronomic traits, with effective panicle number being the primary factor influencing yield. Quanxiangyou 89, Xinliangyou 1319, and Tai2you 393 were identified as high-yielding and stable varieties, with average yields of 10. 2, 10.3, 10.1 t/hm2 across the three sites, representing increases of 7.9%, 8.9%, 6.5% compared to the control, respectively. These varieties demonstrated broad adaptability and are recommended as key candidates for expanded demonstration in similar ecological regions. Liangyou 2189 was identified as a high-yielding but fluctuating variety, with an average yield of 10.4 t/hm2, showing a yield increase of up to 16.7% at the Gushi site. However, its stability was relatively poor, making it suitable as a supplementary variety for scientific deployment in regions with sufficient fertility and refined management.
Analysis of Changes in Tobacco Quality Characteristics and Influencing Factors Under Different Tobacco Production Techniques
YU Hai-bing;YU Shun-ping;LI Tian-hua;Yunnan Tobacco Company Qujing City Company;This study investigated soils and tobacco leaves from the Shizong and Luxi tobacco-growing regions. Three treatments were established, combining crop rotation patterns and film removal with hilling methods: SS(Shizong conventional cultivation: green manure rotation + no film removal), LL(Luxi innovative techniques: wheat rotation + film removal with hilling), and LS(application of Luxi techniques in Shizong: green manure rotation + film removal with hilling). Through field plot comparative experiments, the effects of different treatments on tobacco-planting soil nutrients, chemical components of tobacco leaves, and sensory quality were investigated, and the key factors affecting the sensory quality of tobacco leaves in the Shizong tobacco area were revealed. The results showed that compared with the SS treatment, the LS treatment significantly increased soil nutrient content in the Shizong tobacco area. It also optimized the chemical components of tobacco leaves(total sugar, reducing sugar, two-sugar ratio, total nitrogen, potassium, chlorine, potassium-chlorine ratio), achieving better coordination; all indicators met the standards for high-quality tobacco leaves. In terms of sensory quality, the scores of tobacco leaves at three grades(B2F, C3F, X2F) were highest under the LS treatment, with increases of 2.01%, 1.32%, and 1.24% respectively, and the score ranking was C3F>B2F>X2F. Correlation analysis revealed that reducing sugar, starch, potassium, and chlorine content in tobacco leaves, as well as soil available phosphorus and available potassium, were significantly or extremely significantly positively correlated with sensory quality. Random forest model analysis indicated the contribution ranking of various indicators to tobacco leaf sensory quality: potassium-chlorine ratio>starch content>chlorine content > reducing sugar content > total nitrogen content > nicotine content > potassium content > total sugar content. Structural equation model further revealed that the increases in soil available phosphorus, available potassium, and leaf potassium, total nitrogen, chlorine content, and two-sugar ratio were key factors driving the improvement of tobacco leaf sensory quality. In conclusion, considering the actual production conditions of the Shizong tobacco area, adopting green manure rotation combined with film removal and hilling(LS) mode can effectively improve soil nutrients, coordinate tobacco leaf chemical components, and enhance sensory quality, making it an optimized model suitable for local flue-cured tobacco cultivation.

Research on Heavy Metal Pollution Levels and Ecological Risks of Fish-Shrimp Peptide Protein Fertilizer
LI Qian;RUAN Huan-yang;[Objective] To systematically assess the heavy metal risks of fish and shrimp peptide protein feed and establish a safely evaluation method for it. [Method]The contents of elements such as arsenic, cadmium, lead, zinc, and tin were measured using atomic spectroscopy technology in accordance with the national standard(GB/T 37500-2019). Correlation analysis and the Hakanson ecological risk index method were comprehensively employed for pollution tracing and quantitative risk assessment. [Result]The contents of all mandatory controlled heavy metals(As, Cd, Pb,Cr,and Cu) in accordance with national standards are all far below the limits specified in GB 38400-2019 excellent safety and compliance; the produces has a significant “high zinc” characteristic(Zn 27.2 mg/kg), and the content of cadmium and tin shows a significant positive correlation(P<0.05), confirming that the pollution originates from the natural enrichment of marine raw materials; the comprehensive potential ecological risk index(RI=6.33) is at a low-risk level. [Conclusion]This study has confirmed that this fertilizer has high metal safety and low ecological risk, and also has zinc nutritional value. The research results not only provide key data support for its sate production, but also establish a systematic method example from precise to risk quantification for the risk assessment of similar new fertilizers.

Research Hotspots and Prospects of Organic Agriculture in China from 1995 to 2025—Knowledge Mapping Analysis Based on CiteSpace and VOSviewer
HU Ya-jie;LI Liang;DAN Wen-hong;In the process of agriculture's transition toward green development, organic agriculture has emerged as a leader, promoting sustainable agricultural practices through eco-friendly models. Based on 496 academic papers indexed in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) from 1995 to 2025, this study employs CiteSpace and VOSviewer software to conduct a visual analysis of research trends in organic agriculture, including publication volume, author distribution, institutional affiliations, high-frequency keywords, keyword clustering, and temporal evolution of key terms. The results show that research on organic agriculture has evolved through three stages: exploratory emergence(1995-2010), rapid growth(2011-2020), and mature deepening(2021-2025). Publication output shifted from slow growth to stable, high-level expansion, while research focus expanded from foundational theories to technical applications and socio-economic dimensions. Among 1 031 authors, no core group has yet formed; instead, they are dispersed across six distinct research teams with varied focuses. Of the 533 institutions involved, universities and research institutes dominate, with China Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Nanjing Agricultural University serving as central hubs. Collaboration patterns reveal strong internal team cooperation but weak inter-institutional collaboration. Co-occurrence and clustering analyses identify “organic farming”“ecological agriculture”and“rural revitalization”as a central triad, covering production technologies, environmental benefits, and socio-economic aspects. Emerging keywords indicate a shift in research priorities from food safety to policy effectiveness. Future research in China's organic agriculture should focus on deepening technological integration and extending the industrial chain to overcome bottlenecks in single-sector development; building localized policy frameworks responsive to evolving hot topics; and fostering cross-border collaborative networks to elevate the capacity and influence of research stakeholders.

Effects of Exogenous SA on Photosynthetic Rate and Intercellular CO2 Concentration in Sunflower Leaves Under Deficit Irrigation
HAN Hai-xia;YU Mei-qi;SHEN Ling-ping;[Objective] To explore the mechanism by which exogenous salicylic acid(SA) alleviates the inhibitory effects of deficit irrigation on sunflower photosynthesis.[Method] Sunflower seedlings were used as materials with different gradient deficit irrigation levels(100%, 80%, 60%, 40% of irrigation) combined with exogenous SA treatments to analyze their effects on leaf photosynthetic parameters.[Result] The results showed that as irrigation decreased, the net photosynthetic rate(Pn) and stomatal conductance(Gs) of sunflower leaves significantly declined, while intercellular CO2 concentration(Ci) exhibited a trend of first decreasing and then increasing, indicating a shift from stomatal limitation to non-stomatal limitation in photosynthesis. Exogenous SA effectively mitigated the inhibitory effects of water stress on photosynthesis, with effects dependent on the degree of stress. Under mild water stress(80% irrigation),SA optimized stomatal behavior,maintaining higher(Ci) and Pn while reducing Gs and transpiration rate(Tr), thereby significantly improving water use efficiency(WUE). The mechanism may be related to regulating stomatal signaling pathways and enhancing antioxidant protection capacity.However, under moderate to severe water stress(60%, 40% irrigation),the alleviative effect of SA weakened with increasing stress.[Conclusion] Exogenous SA can effectively enhance sunflower tolerance to water stress,particularly mild stress,through multiple physiological mechanisms,providing a theoretical basis for its application in water-saving and stress-resistant cultivation of sunflowers in arid and semi-arid regions.

Research on the Peer Effect of Green Information Disclosure in Agricultural Supply Chains in Hubei Province
WANG Zhuo;Against the backdrop of the coordinated advancement of the “dual carbon” strategic goals and green finance policies,this paper takes the green information disclosure behavior of agricultural supply chains as the starting point.Based on panel data from 182 county-level and above agricultural leading enterprises across 13 prefectures and cities in Hubei Province from 2018 to 2023,it first constructs a dual-dimensional index system comprising county-level geographical peers and vertical industrial chain peers,and systematically examines the peer imitation mechanism and its impact in the process of green information disclosure among agricultural supply chain enterprises.The research findings are as follows:(1) For every 10-point increase in the green information disclosure level of county-level peer enterprises,the average disclosure score of the focal enterprise increases by 3.6 points;the peer effect in the industrial chain is also significant,but its influence magnitude is slightly lower than that of the county-level peer effect.(2) Government subsidy intensity and the concentration of major customers have positive moderating effects on the county-level and industrial chain peer effects,respectively.For every 1% increase in the proportion of government subsidies,the imitation intensity of enterprises increases by 9.8%.(3) Small and medium-sized enterprises,farmer cooperatives,and private enterprises have significantly higher imitation coefficients for peer behavior than large state-owned enterprises,and the contribution of the administrative normative pressure channel to the peer effect is approximately 60%,highlighting the key role of policy guidance.(4) The peer effect is not only reflected in the information disclosure level but also promotes the improvement of real environmental performance.In the sub-sample of listed enterprises,for every one standard deviation increase in the disclosure level of county-level peers,the carbon emissions per unit of revenue decrease by approximately 1.8%.Based on the above findings,this paper proposes policy suggestions such as establishing a county-level “green information disclosure list”,setting up a special subsidy for “first-time disclosure”,and including downstream leading enterprises in the green procurement assessment system.Through the synergy of reputation incentive and market pressure mechanisms,the peer effect can be amplified to effectively promote the green and low-carbon transformation of agricultural supply chains in central and western regions.

Study on the Extraction of Polysaccharides from Alsophila spinulosa
YIN Li-jiang;ZHONG Wen-jun;LUO Rui;[Objective] To efficiently extract active polysaccharides from the stem of Alsophila spinulosa and promote their high-value utilization by optimizing the enzymatic extraction process, thereby improving the yield and purity. [Method] Using artificially cultivated Alsophila spinulosa from the cultivation base in Jinhua Township, Rong County, Zigong City, Sichuan Province as raw material, the polysaccharide contents in its leaves, stems, and stalks were measured. The stem, which exhibited the highest polysaccharide content, was selected for further study. The enzymatic extraction process was optimized through single-factor experiments combined with orthogonal tests, with factors including enzyme dosage, temperature, pH, and extraction time being investigated. [Result] The polysaccharide yield in the stem of Alsophila spinulosa was 8.15%. The optimal enzymatic extraction conditions were as follows: hemicellulase dosage of 7%, solid-to-liquid ratio of 1∶ 10(g∶ mL), pH value of 6.0, temperature of 55 ℃, and extraction time of 1.0 h. The order of influencing factors was enzyme dosage >enzymdysis temperature > pH >enzymdysis time. Under these conditions, the polysaccharide yield reached 8.99% with a purity of 70.31%. A single extraction achieved a yield close to the theoretical maximum, and the purity was increased by 39.00 percent point compared to the original method. [Conclusion] The established enzymatic extraction process is stable and efficient, significantly improving the yield and purity of polysaccharides from the stem of Alsophila spinulosa. This provides a reliable technical foundation for the further separation and comprehensive utilization of Alsophila spinulosa polysaccharides.

Advancement of a Variety of Chemical Constituents and Pharmacological Mechanisms of Poria cocos

Researches about chemical compositions and pharmacological mechanisms of Poria cocos were summarized. The main chemical composition of Poria cocos are polysaccharide,triterpenes,fatty acids,sterols and so on. There are eleven polysaccharide compounds and forty-two triterpenoids. Poria cocos has a variety of pharmacological effects,two powerful active ingredients of Poria cocos are polysaccharides and triterpenes. Polysaccharides of Poria cocos have functions of antitumor activities,liver protective effect,acts as a diuretic,antisenility effects,anti-inflammatory,decrease blood fat,enhance immunity,sleep-inducing effect. Triterpenes of Poria cocos has function of antitumor activities,liver protective effect,antisenility effects,anti- inflammatory,enhancing immunity.

Research Advances in Extraction, Isolation, Purification and Content Determination of Methods Flavonoids

YOU Xin;XIONG Da-guo;GUO Zhi-bin;Guangyuan Jiahua Traditional Chinese Medicine Plant Corporation;Guangyuan Zhaohua Bureau of Forestry and Gardening;Guangyuan Bureau of Forestry and Gardening;Poria cocos are traditionally used in Chinese herbal prescriptions. Researches about chemical compositions and pharmacological mechanisms of Poria cocos were summarized. The main chemical composition of Poria cocos are polysaccharide,triterpenes,fatty acids,sterols and so on. There are eleven polysaccharide compounds and forty-two triterpenoids. Poria cocos has a variety of pharmacological effects,two powerful active ingredients of Poria cocos are polysaccharides and triterpenes. Polysaccharides of Poria cocos have functions of antitumor activities,liver protective effect,acts as a diuretic,antisenility effects,anti-inflammatory,decrease blood fat,enhance immunity,sleep-inducing effect. Triterpenes of Poria cocos has function of antitumor activities,liver protective effect,antisenility effects,anti- inflammatory,enhancing immunity.

Research and Application Advances of Yeast Two-hybrid Technique
LI Xian-kun et al(College of Horticulture and Gardening of Hainan University,Danzhou,Hannan 571737)Yeast two-hybrid,which studies the interaction among proteins in yeast eukaryotic cells by using genetics method,is a very effective molecular biology technology.It is widely used in the fields such as proteomics,cellular signal transduction and functional genomics.And it has become one of important experiment means in the research field of molecular biology.And many valuable discoveries have been achieved using this system.With the development of molecular biology,based on yeast two-hybrid,many techniques such as yeast one-hybrid,reverse two-hybrid,three-hybrid,and extranuclear two-hybrid were set up to be applied in the research on the interaction between protein-protein,protein-DNA,protein-RNA,and protein-ligand.The research advances of yeast two-hybrid and its relevant technologies and application were summarized.It could be forecast that yeast two-hybrid and its derived techniques would play more and more important role in the researches of the functional genomics and proteomics.
