Research Progress on the Effects of Ecological and Environmental Factors on the Growth, Development and Quality of Gastrodia elata
SU Xin-ting;HAN Duo;YANG Cheng-cui;Gastrodia elata is a traditional medicinal plant in China, which has the effects of stopping wind and stopping spasm, expelling wind and collaterals, stabilizing liver yang, preventing cancer, relieving pain, antioxidant, enhancing immunity, and lowering blood sugar. In recent years, the market demand for Gastrodia elata has increased sharply. Gastrodia elata has extremely special requirements for the growth environment and needs to coexist with two fungi. Although artificial cultivation techniques have achieved the large-scale cultivation of Armillaria mellea, problems such as poor growth and development, low yields and continuous cropping obstacles are still encountered during the cultivation of Gastrodia elata. This article summarizes the research progress on the relationship between the ecological and environmental factors of Gastrodia elata and its growth, development and quality, analyzes the impact of climate, soil, terrain and other ecological factors on the growth, development and nutritional quality of Gastrodia elata, and proposes corresponding measures and directions for in-depth research.
Prospects of DNA Molecular Markers in Crop Variety Identification
LI Jian;XIE Hao;DOU Dan-dan;Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences;DNA molecular markers exhibit notable advantages, including high polymorphism and stability, rendering them extensively utilized in domains such as genetic mapping and varietal identification. This review synthesizes the evolution of DNA molecular markers and their research advancements in the context of crop varietal identification. Within this field, SSR, SNP, and MNP markers have emerged as predominant tools, owing to their operational simplicity and elevated accuracy, thereby substantially enhancing the efficiency and precision of DUS testing. Nevertheless, challenges persist, such as the elevated costs associated with marker development for complex genomes and limitations in accuracy due to interference from repetitive genomic regions. Looking forward, the iterative refinement of sequencing technologies and the integration of multi-omics methodologies are poised to usher varietal identification into a comprehensive molecular marker era, facilitating the optimized use of breeding resources and the global standardization of identification protocols.
Effects of Different Planting Density on Agronomic Characters and Yields of Maize
WANG Shao-bin;QIAN Shuang-hong;ZHU Han-yong;To clarify the effects of planting density on agronomic traits and yield of different maize varieties, and to establish a theoretical foundation and technical framework for breeding dense-tolerant germplasm and new cultivars, this study investigated 15 maize varieties under three planting densities to evaluate their ear traits and yield components. Variance analysis demonstrated highly significant differences(P<0.01) among varieties, densities, and their interactions on yield. As density increased, plant height, ear height, lodging rate, and stalk breakage rate exhibited marked increases(P < 0.01), while ear length, ear diameter, grain per row, grain per ear, and 100-grain weight significantly decreased(P < 0.05). Bare tip length and barren stalk rate also showed upward trends. Among the tested densities, Chuandan 99, Wen 19-4583, and Wen 20-1424 achieved maximum yields at 67 500 plants/ha, whereas Wendan 236,Wendan777,and Wugu 3861 peaked at 52 500 plants/ha. The remaining 9 varieties displayed the highest yield at 60 000 plants/ha. Correlation analysis revealed that grain per ear exhibited the strongest positive correlation with yield across all densities(P < 0.01), while also showing significant associations with grain per row, ear diameter, ear length, 100-grain weight, and plant height(0.01 < P < 0.05). These findings suggest that breeding dense-tolerant maize varieties should prioritize enhancing grain per ear, ear length, ear diameter, grain rows per ear, and 100-grain weight, while concurrently optimizing plant architecture(plant height, ear height, and so on) and improving resistance to lodging and barren stalks.
Effects of Topping Treatment on the Bulbil Sugar Content Indexs Across Different Lily Varieties
ZHANG Zhi-xuan;ZOU Tong;HAO Jun-yi;[Objective] To investigate the mechanism under lying the role of topping treatment in bulbil formation in five lily varieties “Flore Pleno”, “Hotel California”, “Red Twin”, “Red Velvet”,and “Purple Marble” at the budding stage, and conduct phenotype analysis and sugar content determination of bulbils. [Method] Correlation analysis of the phenotypes of plant height and leaf number of different lilies was conducted. The location, number, and sugar content of bulbils after topping treatment were analyzed. The expression patterns of LlSUS4 and LlSUS5 during bulbil formation after topping treatment were analyzed by fluorescence quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR). [Result] There was a positive correlation between plant height and leaf number in most varieties, and the number of bulbils in “Flore Pleno” and “Hotel California” were positively correlated with the number of leaves in their plants. The naturally occurring bulbils lily varieties with topping treatment at the budding stage showed that the topping treatment could increase the number of bulbils, accompanied by the increase of glucose and sucrose content in the leaf axils, and the real-time fluorescence quantitative(qRT-PCR) technology showed that sucrose synthase was significantly up-regulated during the bulbil formation process after topping.[Conclusion]The increase in surcrose content in the axils after topping treatment may contribute to the induction and farmation of bultils.

Cyclic Regulation Model of Planting Structure Based on Biomass Ash Utilization
CHEN Ying-shan;WEI Ze-long;ZHOU Yan;The green recycling optimization model of agricultural resources was constructed, which integrated multiple objectives such as greenhouse gas emission reduction, economic benefit improvement and agricultural water control, and the system included reflux paths such as wastewater treatment, fertilizer preparation, commodity sale and direct return to the field, so as to realize the coordinated regulation of resource allocation and environmental effects under the framework of multi-objective fuzzy optimization. The application results of Sanjiang Plain in Heilongjiang Province showed that the proportion of waste utilization was more optimized under the new model, which could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 14.4%, save irrigation water by 0.46% and increase the output value of unit water resources by 1.69%. The results verify the remarkable advantages of this model in improving the level of agricultural waste recycling and the synergistic benefits of ecological environment.

The Effects and Mechanisms of Non-grain Production of Cropland on Grain Production Efficiency in China
ZHENG Nan;TIAN Tian;[Objective]This study investigates the impact effects and mechanisms of cultivated land non-grain utilization on grain production efficiency, aiming to provide a theoretical reference for safeguarding national food security and ensuring the sustainable use of cultivated land. [Method]Utilizing Chinese provincial panel data from 2001 to 2020, we constructed Tobit and mediation effect models to examine the extent and pathways of this influence. [Result]The findings reveal that:(1) the degree of non-grain utilization in China has continuously intensified over the 2001-2020 period, while grain production efficiency has concurrently exhibited a consistent upward trend;(2) non-grain utilization exerts a significant and robust positive effect on grain production;(3) this impact demonstrates heterogeneity across diverse natural geographical conditions, grain functional zones, and varying levels of non-grain utilization;(4) non-grain utilization enhances grain production efficiency specifically through the channels of elevating agricultural mechanization levels and reducing chemical fertilizer application. [Conclusion]The study concludes that governments should accurately comprehend the implications of non-grain utilization, implement region-specific cultivated land governance strategies, and transition grain production modes to achieve agricultural modernization.

Identification of the Outbreak of Eucalyptus Diseases Based on Remote Sensing Time Series in the Beibu Gulf Region
LIU De-cheng;CHEN Lian;LUO Lai-feng;The Beibu Gulf region is a crucial eucalyptus planting area in China, where the eucalyptus industry holds significant importance for local economic and ecological development. Frequent disease outbreaks have threatened the growth quality of eucalyptus trees and the economic benefits of forestry. Based on the Google Earth Engine(GEE) platform, integrated Sentinel-1/2 remote sensing time series data to construct a monitoring dataset for eucalyptus disease detection. By employing disease indices and the continuous change detection and classification(CCDC) time series analysis algorithm, the remote sensing data were decomposed into trend, seasonal, and residual components. Through analyzing trend variations and abrupt anomalies, growth abnormalities caused by diseases were identified, and the timing and spatial distribution of outbreaks were extracted. Results indicated that disease outbreaks primarily occurred intensively in November 2023, with spatial distribution characteristics of “earliest in the eastern coastal areas, followed by the central coastal areas, and later in the southwestern coastal and inland regions”in the Beibu Gulf region of Guangxi. Affected areas were predominantly concentrated in humid coastal zones and mountainous forest regions with poor ventilation conditions. The findings demonstrate that remote sensing technologies can effectively support dynamic monitoring and early detection of eucalyptus disease outbreaks, providing a scientific basis for timely and targeted control strategies and promoting the sustainable development of the eucalyptus industry.
